A Zine of Zines

This project celebrates the cultural and historical essence of Greenwich Village through the lens of its iconic zines and publications. By curating and analyzing influential magazines like The Masses, The Village Voice, and n+1, the zine highlights how Greenwich Village became a hub for progressive thought, counterculture, and creative expression. Each section explores themes such as LGBTQ+ rights, avant-garde art, radical politics, and community activism, emphasizing how these publications amplified marginalized voices and fueled social change.

Through compelling visuals and detailed storytelling, the Zine of Zines reflects the enduring spirit of the Village as a sanctuary for individuality and defiance against mainstream norms. By showcasing the intersection of art, activism, and self-expression, this project serves as a testament to the power of zines to foster dialogue, inspire movements, and shape the cultural identity of one of New York City’s most iconic neighborhoods.
